The U.S. military says it blew up two boats accused of smuggling drugs in the eastern Pacific Ocean. It says the strikes killed a total of five people and left one survivor.

The Defense Department said on Monday that it had blown up a boat in the eastern Pacific Ocean earlier in the day, killing two people.

The strike ⁠comes ⁠a day ​after the U.S. military ​said ⁠that a strike, ⁠also in the eastern Pacific, had ⁠killed two men.
