Russia fired dozens of drones at Ukraine in nighttime attacks, Ukrainian officials said Wednesday, disregarding a unilateral ceasefire announced by Kyiv that began at midnight.

Iran has sent its response to the latest US ceasefire proposal to Pakistani mediators and wants negotiations to focus on permanently ending the war, Iran’s state-run media has said.

Recent days have seen the biggest flare-ups in fighting in and around the Strait of Hormuz ‌since a ceasefire began a month ago, and the United Arab Emirates came under renewed attack on Friday.
