U.S. President Donald Trump said Monday that the United States is “reinstating” a blockade on Iran in the Strait of Hormuz and, in a seeming policy reversal, will charge other ships for safe passage.
President Donald Trump dropped the idea of charging a 20% fee on all cargo shipped through the Strait of Hormuz, and said he would instead take trade and investment deals with the Gulf states.
The president has repeatedly said he's the No. 1 target of the Iranian regime, with protesters holding banners calling for his death at Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's funeral this week.
