KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — A Russian drone attack on Ukraine’s southern port city of Odesa killed two women and a toddler, authorities said Monday, while Ukrainian long-range drones targeted Russia’s key Black Sea port for oil exports.

Ukraine’s military said it carried out overnight strikes against a Russian missile-carrying warship docked at the Black Sea port of Novorossiysk and a drilling rig near occupied Crimea, citing a statement from a Ukrainian drone commander.

Russia has unleashed a massive drone and missile barrage on civilian areas of Ukraine and is stepping up ground attacks along the front.

Regional Governor Yury Slyusar claimed that Russian air defenses destroyed more than 50 drones across ten districts in the oblast. However, he did not mention the fire in Gukovo, only reporting damage to a family home in the Chertkovsky district from debris of an intercepted drone.
