The underwater wreckage of the Pan American Airways flight that crashed and killed 52 people off Puerto Rico’s coast in 1952 has been found, according to a news release.
The aircraft was located 2,000ft (610m) below sea level off Puerto Rico using a sonar-equipped drone during an expedition.
Only 12 passengers and all five crew members were rescued by the US Coast Guard and Air Force. The other 52 people drowned.
