North Korea test-launched "multiple" ballistic missiles early on Sunday morning, according to South Korea, which said the missiles were fired toward the sea between the Korean Peninsula and Japan.

The launch came less than two weeks after North Korea conducted back-to-back launches involving ballistic missiles on April 8.
