Kansas State fired basketball coach Jerome Tang on Sunday night, four days after many Wildcats fans showed up with bags over their heads for a home blowout.

According to a copy of Tang’s contract, he can be fired “for cause” if he does something that brings “public disrepute, embarrassment, ridicule” to Kansas State. Tang said in a statement he disagrees with K-State’s characterization of his firing.

Kansas State is attempting to fire Jerome Tang for cause, but a sports law expert believes it faces a tough battle and a settlement is likely.
