Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed US attacks targeted bridges on routes leading to Mashhad, where Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei is due to be buried later on Thursday. The IRGC said the strikes were aimed at overshadowing the funeral ceremonies and warned that any further US attacks would trigger "expanded" retaliation against additional American bases in the region.
