An ICE agent, Christian J. Castro, has been charged with four felony assault counts and one misdemeanor count of falsely reporting a crime after prosecutors say he shot a legally present Venezuelan man through his front door and fabricated a story to justify it.

A US Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent was charged with assault by Minnesota authorities for allegedly shooting a Venezuelan man and then lying about the confrontation.

Moriarty announced Monday charges against ICE agent Christian Castro in connection with the Jan. 14 shooting of Julio Cesar Sosa-Celis in north Minneapolis.
