The European Commission has fined Alibaba $629 million under the Digital Services Act, citing AliExpress' failure to adequately prevent the sale of illegal and counterfeit products on its marketplace.

The European Commission announced a record fine against AliExpress for not curbing the sale and promotion of illegal products on Monday.
